Seared Wood PigeonWhen we saw the glowing review of The Pheasant Inn, and in particular our food, in a recent edition of The Metro, Scotland we were over the moon. The review couldn't have been more timely as we have just introduced brand menus in our Bistro and Fell Restaurant.

The menu in the Fell Restaurant sees a return to fine dining with a seasonal menu showcasing the best of modern British cooking. Our Head Chef has been with the Pheasant for 25 years and the new menu draws on his signature dishes encompassing the flavours and seasons of the Lake District.

Pistachio Artic RollDining in the Fell Restaurant is a luxurious but relaxed experience. Guests start the evening with drinks and canapes in the lounge before being shown into our elegant dining room and being served an Amuse Bouche followed by a two or three course dinner. The menu is both beautifully prepared and presented with mouth-watering dishes such twice baked cheese soufflé, pan fried breast of duck and a wonderful modern twist on puddings of yesteryear with pistachio and cherry artic role. Although we certainly don't remember it tasting this good!

If you prefer a more informal meal but don't want to compromise on quality, we have updated our lunch and dinner menus in the Bistro. Guests can enjoy the best Cumbrian meat, game and fish with favourites such as beer battered fish and chips, belly of pork, 28-day aged sirloin steak and sea bass followed by decadent deserts including sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and vanilla crème brulee.

At lunchtime we offer a set two or three course lunch as well as our signature main courses, sandwiches, baguettes and lighter dishes including a seafood platter and chicken liver parfait.

Duck BreastFor those who like to dinner earlier in the evening, we now offer an early bird special of 2 Courses for £18.50 3 Courses £23.50 between 6pm and 7pm and have a children's menu available for those under about 10 available until 7pm.The Bistro may offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere but the food is very much prepared and served to the high standards you would expect at The Pheasant.
